autumn wind
wanders snowy peaks –
I roam the plains
chasing willow leaves
drifting to earth

  the midnight moon
witness to our differences …
oh how painfully cold
all this snow
and your silence

    whole stanzas of poems
now alien to me …
the rhythms
of our lives
no longer rhyme

overtaking us
the pretty young thing
in a little black skirt –
on my hand my husband's grip
loosens for a moment

space Sanjukta Asopa - India

a blood red sun sinks
behind distant hills
you withdraw
without a final word

space Gavin Austin - Australia

    love-filled nights
like summer, end too soon
the dry crackling
of leaves underfoot
as I make my way home

space Thelma Mariano - Canada
