Under Different Stars

We lie close beside each other in broken rhythms of sleep. The night is swollen with words but we dream separate dreams. The wordless ease of routine discolors shared memories. Love is an obscure song, a whimsical arrangement of words without the alchemy of hope. We each hold our dreams and pain alone in stony solitude.
